SABO
From XLDB
One of the goals of the VPH NoE is to develop and promote standards for describing data and models that result from the research on biomedical modelling and simulation of the human body. One important sub-theme of standards is ontologies, which are being used to annotate data and models with controlled vocabularies, enabling the automatic integration and analysis of these resources. The utility of these ontological annotations to interlink and interpret biomedical information is widely recognized.
SABO (Semantic Similarity across Biomedical Ontologies) aims at developing semantic similarity measures for relevant anatomic ontologies, such as FMA, HPO, ChEBI, which will enable the quantitative comparison between VPH models annotated with ontological terms.
